I’ve been coming to Spicy Basil for around 10 years and it has consistently been one of my go to halal Thai restaurant in London. I’ve hardly ever been disappointed, and the food is always great. Don’t judge it by the outside, it’s the kind of place that focuses on the food rather than the look.
On my last visit, the chicken was a bit chewy, which is the first time I’ve experienced that after so many years of coming here, so I’m hoping it was just a one-off. Overall, I’d still happily recommend it, especially if you’re looking for good halal food in the area. I’m definitely going again.

No frills cafe style Thai eatery. I’ve been coming here for years and the food has always been amazing here and curries are about £13. Great vegetarian options. Place is a little run down now so does need a refurb. Great place to pop in if you’re in the Kilburn area.

I got the satay skewers, the chilli beef noodles and the spicy chicken prawn dumplings. The dumplings were my favourite followed by the noodles, super good and quick service. The atmosphere is fine, it’s comfy and you’re looked after but it’s on the smaller side but they’re very nice and accommodating

I was extremely disappointed with both the food and the customer service. The staff were rude and unwilling to take responsibility for serving poorly cooked food.

The meal was tasteless and inedible, and it ended up going straight in the bin.

It's especially disappointing because my family and I have been customers for over 10 years. Unfortunately, the last two orders have been cooked very poorly, and any special requests we've made have been completely ignored. If you're considering requesting changes to your order, don't expect them to be followed.

After more than a decade of supporting this business, it's a real shame to see such a decline in both the quality of the food and the level of customer service.

I’m still eating while reviewing this place, it is that good!!!! Love it absolutely!!! The portions, the taste, the ambiance everything is amazing!!! I got myself chicken prawn pad thai and it slappppsss!!! You have chillies as well soya sauce on the table to customise!! I had fun with green chillies, as its doesn’t only gives a nice kick, but is quite addictive!!! Guess what, I might become regular, if I am around this place. Love the staff, everyone is so human and sane 🥺😭❤️❤️❤️
